Students support individual free expression rights that directly affect or interest them; they’re less supportive of rights that are less relevant to their lives.
On the issues of musicians being allowed to sing songs that might be offensive, and school newspapers being allowed to publish without the prior approval of school authorities, students express higher levels of support for free expression than either teachers or parents.

By contrast, on more general issues related to the First Amendment, and on rights that do not directly affect students, teachers and parents express higher levels of support than students:
