Key Finding 4: Parents, not teachers, have the greatest influence on students’ choice of news sources.
Forty-three percent of high schools students say that their parents have “a lot” of influence on their decisions to use news sources. Peers are also relatively more influential, as 39% of students say peers have “a lot” of influence.
Far less influential in students’ decisions to use news sources are teachers, as only 13% of students say they have “a lot” of influence.
